Notice Things Much?

Starting March 3rd, my office moved from Sudirman to Hayam Wuruk… it’s been quite a challenge for me since the journey took more or less 2.5 (exhausting) hours from my house to my office…

My dad drove me to Blok M terminal station and from there I went by Trans Jakarta. To get into the bus itself takes a HUGE effort with all the pushing and shoving from all the people (not) waiting in-line. But I always managed to get a seat. And then sitting there in the bus I started to notice other people around me… I always like observing other people. Anyway, these past 2 weeks I started to observe what people are wearing (mostly girls/women).

I, myself, don’t exactly follow fashion trend everywhere I go (somehow I’m just not that successful in that area) but I always try to adopt the “matching principle”… no… it’s not the accounting terms to match your expenses with the revenue generated… it’s about matching the color of the clothes/bag/shoes/accessories you wear (which is not an every day accomplishment for me also).

For instance, like on last Wednesday morning on my journey in Trans Jakarta, I noticed this women (about forty) wearing a yellow with orange flowers motive trousers (which should be wear to bed and never outside your house) and a turquoise color jacket and with grey shoes. I wasn’t able to see the T-shirt she’s wearing inside her jacket because she was standing with her back to me but I was able to see the color red up in her sleeve… need I say more?

A few days before I saw this career woman, wearing a shirt which seems to be a 1 or 2 sizes larger than her size even though the color of her shirt and pants and shoes was a perfect match! I do that too sometimes… but that’s because I’m so skinny it’s like magic when I found the perfect size for me… and when you have a great body there’s no excuse for that… (except maybe if you sleepover at your friends house and have no extra shirt to wear to work so you have to borrow hers).

Sometimes I also took notice at their handbags too… okay, which one is better? To have a huge handbag that can carry all your stuffs in or have a nice small or medium handbag and with that comes along a paper/plastic bag in the other hand for the stuff (like an umbrella, make-up kit, papers, etc) that doesn’t fit in your small/medium handbag? What do you think? What I found mostly is that women prefer the second one a lot… (my mom does that too, although I think her handbag is huge enough to fit in the other stuffs). I, on the other hand, prefers the first one IF possible (cause I have a small body that it looks ridiculous to wear such a huge handbag, so I’ll just wear my medium size handbag and put all my stuff in there).

Hey, don’t think that I’m like a fashion police or anything… (ever watch the fashion police show on E! channel where they scramble in the middle of the city street to catch the clothes that people wear which are hot and not? I like watching that show… although I will not be able to pull-off what they wear there, the good ones I mean…)

I think I’ll stop now… it was fun looking at what other people wear, some good and some are not so good… criticize them? Yeah, maybe a little… but if you’re comfortable in what you wear, do you really mind what other people think?
